I have a Ziatech ZT-8952 IDE interface. The board shows that it is 8 bit bus compatible, by sequencing the data to/from the drive 8 bits at a time. The data register is the only 16 bit one, all the rest are 8bits. Here's the problem. It decodes addresses 1F0h thru 1F7h and 3F6h to 3F7h. How is this done if the card is 8 bit bus compatible?
